PM Modi's bilateral talks with many leaders on the sidelines of AI Summit (Photo-X)
PTI, New Delhi. On the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held bilateral talks with top leaders of Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Slovakia. The talks paid special attention to strengthening trade, technology and strategic cooperation.
The Prime Minister also met United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres. He said that discussions were held on making AI all-inclusive and ensuring participation of the Global South.
PM Modi said India is a supporter of human-centric AI development and UN reform, especially giving greater voice to the Global South. In his meeting with President Draupadi Murmu, Guterres praised India's initiatives in the AI sector.
Focus on Mauritius and Sri Lanka In the meeting with Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, it was agreed to take the strategic partnership to new heights in the areas of AI, technology, culture and public relations.
PM Modi described Mauritius as an important partner of India's 'Ocean' vision. Discussions were held with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on increasing cooperation in energy, connectivity, infrastructure, health and blue economy.
Cooperation with Europe Talks were held with the President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, on defence, space and digital public infrastructure. The recent India-EU Free Trade Agreement is expected to give impetus to trade and investment.
