240 acres of mesh cultivation, 4 thousand incentives

Efforts are being made by the Bihar government to promote the cultivation of coarse grains. All the districts have also been targeted for various crops. Along with promoting maize cultivation, emphasis is also being laid on the cultivation of ragi (Madua). This year, the district has been targeted to cultivate ragi on 240 acres. Seeds have also been provided to the intended farmers. People are also preparing Gachhi. Avinash Kumar, Deputy Project Director of Atma said that farmers are being prepared at every level for cultivation of coarse grains by the Agriculture Department. To provide training and other types of information to farmers, the Center of Excellence for Millets has been established in Gaya. Incentives are also being given to farmers. He said that the benefit will not be understood until the farmers do not cultivate coarse grains.

The incentive amount being given, the project director said that the government encouraged farmers for the cultivation of ragi (Madua) Is also being given. For the cultivation of ragi, 4 thousand incentives are being given per acre, in which seeds of 2 thousand have been given seeds and insecticides. Apart from this, 2 thousand additional funds are being given, which the farmer is free to spend any item. The Government of India has also given a citation to the Government of Bihar to take initiative on coarse grain cultivation.
