Ban on playing loud speakers from 10 am to 6 am

The Supreme Court has imposed a complete ban on the use of loud speakers from 10 am to 6 am. Under noise pollution rules, the acceptable level of sound has been determined in different areas for day and night. The acceptable border in industrial areas is 75 dB during day and 70 dB at night.

It has 65 dB and 55 dB in commercial areas during day and night. There are 55 dB and 45 dB in residential areas. Air (Pollution Prevention and Control) Act 1981, noise pollution (regulation and control) Rules 2000, Environment (Protection) Rules 1986 and Indian Penal Code will have to be followed. There is a provision for action on violating the above rules. ASP Vikas Kumar said that since schools have opened and playing loud speakers can cause problems in children. Therefore, all the police in -charge have been instructed to take strict action under the above law and rules in the presence of Tehsildar. To check the level of sound, it is also said to use the sound meter and take photos and videos while taking action.
