Dhaliwal said that road, cycle track and green belt will be constructed by covering the drain at a cost of 120 crores. People will also get relief from traffic on completion of work. Dhaliwal said that in the Lok Sabha elections, he had promised that by cleaning this drain, he would free the area from pollution and this work has been started 15 days after the election. Although could not win the election, but a large number of people gave me their support, for which I will always be indebted. Dhaliwal said that it is being considered to clean the dirty water coming in this drain and use it in farming, which will reduce the use of ground water.

Dhaliwal said that it is a matter of great regret that The previous governments did not pay any attention to this dirty drain passing through the city. Dirty sewer is spreading diseases among people. He said that now the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has resolved to develop this drain, on which work has been started from today. He has completed this work with the hard work of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh.
