In a season, up to 8 quintals of mangoes are produced from a tree.

Apart from this, the weight of Bharatbhog species is about 900 grams. It is medium sweet in food and the peel is slightly thick. Some of the back species, such as Carvi mangoes are also found. When all mangoes ripen from the market, then this carvi mango starts cooking.

6 years ago Jardalu Aam got GI tag

Jardalu Mango of Bhagalpur The international identity was received 6 years ago. In 2018, Jardalu Mango received the Giampony Indication (GI) tag. Its first commercial consignment was sent to Britain on 14 June 2021 after GI certification of Jardalu Mango, known for specific aroma and taste. The product related to it is given. That product is the identity of that area. When the fame of that product spreads in the country and the world, the GI tag is processed to certify it. In his name, such products of any other area cannot be traded.

President-Prime Minister tastes the taste of Jardalu Mango The High Commissioners of all the present countries, other big ministers, officers as well as MPs and MLAs are also sent. This year, about 100 quintals of Jardalu mango mango was filled in 2200 packets and sent to Bihar Bhavan in Delhi. There were 20 mangoes weighing about 5 kg in a box. From here, this packet went to the President and Prime Minister.

Ashok Chaudhary of Bhagalpur, known as Mango Man, says that from here, this mango was sent to many Prime Ministers including first President Rajendra Babu to Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. used to go. However, the middle stopped. After this, the process of sending mangoes continues since 2007. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar offers mangoes to special guests on behalf of Bihar government.

This year crop declines by 40% This time 40% crop has been damaged. However, mango yield was fine till last year, but this time there has been a decline. Due to change in weather, farmers have suffered losses in mango crops.

Jardalu mangoes are being sold 60 to 70 rupees a kg in Bhagalpur market this year. The standard size of Jardalu mangoes is 186-285 grams, but this time due to lack of good rains, its size is being seen only between 180-200 grams. 2500 boxes were left ready but could not be sent to the central government. As a result, thousands of Jardalu mangoes were rotten. Due to this, farmers also had to bear losses of millions. The reason for this was the bitterness of the relationship between the Center and the Government of Bihar at that time.

Jardalu mango exports abroad

The taste of Jardalu mangoes spreads abroad. Every year these mangoes buy many companies from registered farmers of Bhagalpur and send it to many other countries like Saudi, Britain, UK, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh outside the country.
