The Electricity Department has planned to pay interest on advance recharge with the aim of providing relief to the electricity consumers. The advantage of this will be that consumers can save through interest in electricity bills. The power company will pay interest to consumers on depositing advance money in smart prepaid meters. This interest will be received according to the amount available in its prepaid account like the saving account of the consumers’ bank. Consumers with less than 20 kW load will have to recharge at least 2000 rupees in prepaid power meters to take interest. According to the minimum of 2000 and maximum, no matter how much you will be able to deposit. The amount will be given as interest. If a consumer keeps the advance amount for more than 3 months, then he will get 0.25 percent more interest. Consumers will get 0.75 percent interest from 6 to 9 months, 0.50 percent, 9 to 12 months. One percent will be available for keeping the amount for more than 12 months. The district has more than 3.3 and a half consumers. The homes of about 1.25 lakh consumers have smart prepaid meters.

I will be able to do so on payment of electricity bill on time, 1.5 percent discount on payment of electricity bill on time also on the basis of 1 percent prepaid meter on submission of bills through online medium. Exemption is available.

arrangements have been made to provide different exemption in the bill from the company on behalf of the company. Consumers can take good savings in electricity bill payment by taking advantage of this. – Pranav Kumar, Assistant Engineer
