Digvijay further wrote in his letter- The minimum wage rates were determined by the state government in 2014. According to the provisions of the Minimum Wages Act 1948, the rates of workers should have been increased in 2019. However, under the pressure of the company owners, the state government officials were silent instead of increasing the rates of wages. On the other hand, labor organizations continued demanding to increase wages.

Neither his behalf was taken seriously efforts to remove the stay from the High Court nor a petition was filed against the stay in the Supreme Court. Not only this, the Labor Commissioner has issued an order to pay the payments from 2014 rates.

Congress will support the workers’ movement.
