World Sickle Cell Day Awareness Program: MLA said- Sickle cell should be examined with horoscope match before marriage

On the occasion of World Sickle Cell Day, an awareness program was organized at the General Nursing Training Center located near the District Hospital today (Wednesday). In which sickle cell anemia experts informed about this, rescue measures and other important things.

sickle cell is a genetic disease, which is transferred from parents to children. There is a deficiency of oxygen in red blood cells and the size of the cell does not become round. Because of which this cell looks like half moon. Due to which the growth of the child is affected. The growth of a child affected by sickle cell disease is not done properly. Also, his immunity is also weak compared to other children. If this disease is not treated on time, it can also be fatal. This day is celebrated for the purpose of making people aware of all of them.

Vidisha MLA Mukesh Tandon said that efforts should be made at all levels for the prevention and awareness of sickle cell anemia. In which there should be participation of health department as well as other departments and social workers. He emphasized on organizing special camps in the Sahariya tribe dominated settlements identified in Vidisha district and said that all should be tested. There should be no negligence in this work.

The way the horoscope is matched before marriage, similarly the young man-woman of the sickle cell should also be investigated. If both the young man and the woman are found to be sickle cell positive. In such a situation, symptoms of this disease will definitely be found in the children after marriage. If either of the two has its symptoms, then the danger is reduced to the child.
