After the BMC elections, there is a lot of commotion regarding the post of Mumbai Mayor. Mahayuti has 118 seats, while 114 are needed for Mayor. However, Uddhav Sena's Sanjay Raut has claimed that the opposition has 108 seats and with the support of only 6 councilors they can capture the mayor's post. This is likely to cause a major upheaval in Mumbai politics.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has started major overhauling work of escalators at five major stations of the Blue Line. Escalators going from concourse to platform 2 at Akshardham, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, Mayur Vihar Extension, New Ashok Nagar and Noida Sector-15 stations will remain temporarily closed. DMRC has urged passengers to cooperate and use the lifts, to ensure safety and smooth commute.

Citizens can now avail services like filing complaints, making property tax payments and tracking garbage carts from the comfort of their homes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Amrit Bharat Express between Howrah and Anand Vihar. This train ran as Santragachhi-Anand Vihar inaugural special on Sunday and will run regularly from January 22. It will have 20 coaches, which include sleeper and ordinary class. 32-year-old Sompal of Khanda village of Aleva died during treatment at Rohtak PGI. On February 13, he had consumed pesticide after drinking alcohol in the field, due to which his health deteriorated. He was first referred to Civil Hospital and then to PGI Rohtak, where he died on Sunday night. The police recorded the statement of the elder brother and conducted the post-mortem of the body.
