National Green Tribunal NGT on Thursday said the tent city constructed in 2023 on the banks of river Ganga in Varanasi was carried out in violation of environmental norms. The NGT was hearing a petition which said the tent city was set up without necessary approvals and was polluting the river and harming flora and fauna.
