The court has asked the state government to ensure that if the incidents do not stop, the treatment expenses and compensation will be provided to the victims. The court also expressed concern over the inaction of the authorities and called for action against those who failed to stop the sale of manja.

The court has acquitted Rohit alias Chinu, accused in the case of death of two youths in a car accident that took place seven years ago on Rajpur Road. This decision came due to important witnesses turning hostile from their statements. The incident took place on December 9, 2018, when Anil and Neeraj were killed when their car overturned at high speed while drunk after a party at Maggi Point. The court said that punishment cannot be given on the basis of doubt.

Vikram Verma committed suicide by being hit by a train on Tuesday night near Remba station on the Madhupur-Koderma railway route in Giridih. Before the incident he had called his cousin. Vikram's marriage was fixed on March 14 and the marriage ceremony had also taken place. He used to run a ration shop. The reason for suicide is unknown. On the request of the family, the police handed over the body without post-mortem. Local leaders consoled the bereaved family.
