IIT Delhi in collaboration with SAI and University of Exeter has launched a special training program to scientifically improve the performance of players. This five-day program will be held from 2-6 March 2026, in which coaches, physios and sports experts will learn to use modern sensors, AI tools and data analysis. Its objective is to promote sports science and technology in India.
The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has ordered a complete ban on the manufacture, sale and use of deadly Manjha. The court has asked the state government to ensure that if the incidents do not stop, the treatment expenses and compensation will be provided to the victims. The court also expressed concern over the inaction of the authorities and called for action against those who failed to stop the sale of manja.
The court has acquitted Rohit alias Chinu, accused in the case of death of two youths in a car accident that took place seven years ago on Rajpur Road. This decision came due to important witnesses turning hostile from their statements. The incident took place on December 9, 2018, when Anil and Neeraj were killed when their car overturned at high speed while drunk after a party at Maggi Point. The court said that punishment cannot be given on the basis of doubt.
Vikram Verma committed suicide by being hit by a train on Tuesday night near Remba station on the Madhupur-Koderma railway route in Giridih. Before the incident he had called his cousin. Vikram's marriage was fixed on March 14 and the marriage ceremony had also taken place. He used to run a ration shop. The reason for suicide is unknown. On the request of the family, the police handed over the body without post-mortem. Local leaders consoled the bereaved family.
In Darbhanga, 84 out of 88 government surface irrigation schemes have been closed for decades, due to which farmers are facing a lot of trouble. Despite the government slogan of 'water to every field', these schemes have fallen into ruins due to departmental apathy and lack of maintenance. Only four schemes are operational, due to which farmers have to bear more expenses for irrigation, while the government is busy in bringing expensive schemes.
In Kapurthala, Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Naib Court Officer of SDM Court Rajinder Singh red handed while taking bribe. The accused had asked for Rs 50,000 from a laborer to get his case dismissed. Based on the recording of the complainant, the vigilance team laid a trap and caught him taking Rs 10,000. This action was taken on the complaint of a laborer from Nakodar.
Violent incidents are increasing in Jharkhand due to rumors of child theft. Recently in Jamtara, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh, six people including a woman were beaten up thinking they were child lifters. The police have appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumors and to immediately give information about any suspicious person to the police. The mental condition of many victims was also not found to be good.
A short-term course on Ayurveda for holistic health was completed at the India Study Center of Banaras Hindu University. Pro. J.S. Tripathi described Ayurveda as the science of disease treatment as well as holistic health protection through a balanced daily routine and positive outlook on life. Coordinator Prof. Sharadindu Kumar Tiwari emphasized on reviving the Indian knowledge tradition, while Prof. C.B. There will be a 48-hour mega shutdown from February 19 for the improvement works of Narmada Project in Indore. The damaged pipeline at Wachu Point will be replaced, due to which water supply will be disrupted in many areas of the city on February 19, 20 and 21. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to store water and use the tanker facility. It is claimed that the supply will be smooth after the shutdown.
