In Krishnanagar, Mathura, the Irrigation Department has become strict in removing illegal encroachments on the land of Govardhan Drainage. 70 house owners have been given notice to remove encroachment within seven days. If this is not done, action will be taken with the help of police from January 24 and the expenses will also be recovered from the encroachers. This action is being taken on the instructions of NGT and High Court.
Bhagalpur district has secured the first position in Bihar in providing benefits to mothers under Janani Suraksha Yojana. The district has sent the amount directly to the bank accounts of 3,218 mothers, while IDs of 37,134 beneficiaries have been created. The payments pending since last year were expedited through the efforts of the District Accounts Manager, ensuring payment of ₹1400 in rural areas and ₹1000 in urban areas.
