This page is the Round 1 how-to: how to check the allotment, Freeze vs Float in the 2026 bulletin, which originals to carry, and what happens if you are not allotted or you miss joining. We opened MCC’s UG hub, eservices/Schedule UG, Notice No. 08 dated 13 August 2026, Notice No. 10 dated 17 August 2026, and the UG Information Bulletin dated 1 August 2026 on 19 August 2026. If a later MCC PDF disagrees with a line here, the PDF wins.

What Round 1 allotment is — and what it is not

MCC allots MBBS, BDS and listed B.Sc. Nursing seats from your locked choices, against NEET UG 2026 rank, category and the Round 1 seat matrix. It is not an NTA scorecard and it is not state counselling. You can sit in both; if you later take a state seat, resign the MCC seat first or you will hold two claims that cancel each other.

The 1 August AIQ calendar had put the result on 17 August. Notice No. 08 (13 August, Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC) moved it to 19 August. Notice No. 10 (17 August) extended choice filling to 11:59 PM on 18 August and did not print a new result date. If the letter is not on the login by this evening, stay on MCC’s News & Events UG page. Bulletin point 16: MCC does not email or SMS allotments. You watch the website.

How to check the Round 1 allotment on mcc.nic.in

There is usually a public institute-wise PDF and a personal letter behind login. Use both. The PDF confirms college, quota and rank bands. The letter is what you print for joining.

  1. Open https://mcc.nic.in — not a lookalike “mcc-result” or “neet-allotment” domain.

  2. Go to UG Medical Counselling. Use Candidate Login / Candidate Activity Board with the same mobile and email you used on the NTA NEET form. OTPs go only there (bulletin, information for candidates, point 17).

  3. If a Round 1 seat allotment or result-PDF link is on the hub, open it. Search your NEET roll number. A blank search is not a failed login; it means you were not allotted in this round.

  4. If allotted, download the allotment letter from the same login. Print more than one copy. MCC says admissions and resignations are online only; the letter is still the joining document the college will ask for.

  5. Do not pay anyone who claims they can “confirm” or “upgrade” a seat. MCC does not allot on nomination or through agents (bulletin, information for candidates, points 3–4).

If the login fails, reset only from the official page. Helpline on the notices is [email protected]. A coaching Telegram admin cannot restore an OTP.

Freeze vs Float — the 2026 change that actually matters

Until 2025, almost everyone who wanted an upgrade had to walk into the allotted college with originals so the institute could tick “willing to upgrade” on MCC’s portal. Chapter 2 of the 1 August 2026 bulletin splits candidates after every allotment:

  • Freeze — no upgradation. You are satisfied with this seat and will not go to Round 2 or 3 for a better MCC seat. You must visit the allotted institute physically to join: originals, physical verification, admission fee. The college then confirms or cancels on the portal.

  • Float — willing to upgrade. You keep this seat provisionally and stay in the next MCC round. You submit willingness online. You upload documents for online verification by the institute’s Document Verification Committee. The bulletin’s wording is explicit: there is no need to visit the allotted institute physically at this stage.

Both still upload clear scans on the MCC portal. The bulletin prefers that within two to three days of the result — do not sit on 25 August. A blurred caste certificate or a category mismatch gets a DVC query; re-upload inside the reporting dates or the seat can be cancelled. Float is not a hold forever: after Round 3, leftover Float candidates and all Round 3 allottees must report physically. Round 3 has no resignation. Freeze now and you are out of later MCC upgrades; you can still take a state seat only after resigning this one.

The bulletin flow chart calls Round 1 free exit and Round 2 exit with forfeiture of the security deposit. Free exit is not “skip joining.” If you neither Freeze-join nor Float-verify between 20 and 25 August, this seat can go. FAQ 31: MCC will not extend joining, and some colleges need two or three days of internal paperwork. Start as soon as the college’s working hours allow.

Documents to upload and to carry

FAQ 32 of the bulletin is the list. Originals plus attested photocopies at physical joining. Soft copies of the same set for the portal. Colleges can add items on their own page — check the allotted institute before you travel.

  • MCC allotment letter

  • NTA NEET UG 2026 admit card

  • NTA result / rank letter

  • Date of birth proof if Class 10 does not show it

  • Class 10 certificate

  • Class 12 certificate and marks sheet

  • Eight passport-size photographs, same as the application

  • Photo ID: Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or passport

  • If claimed: SC/ST (English or Hindi, or an attested English/Hindi translation), OBC-NCL on the central list in the bulletin format, EWS in the prescribed format, PwBD eligibility certificate from MCC’s Medical Assessment Board

  • OCI / PIO / foreign-national papers as in the NRI chapter, if that is your quota

A regional-language caste or birth certificate without an attested English or Hindi copy can stall joining; some states insist on English. A spelling mismatch between the form and a certificate needs an affidavit that both names are the same person. A letter saying “originals are deposited with another college” is not accepted — FAQ 35. If you already joined a state seat with originals, you cannot freeze an MCC seat on photocopies.

Reporting steps, 20–25 August

  1. Download the allotment letter. Print two copies.

  2. Choose Freeze or Float on the portal before you book a train. Freeze means you travel this week. Float means scans, not a campus visit, for this round.

  3. Upload the scans immediately. Call the allotted college for fee mode, reporting hours and any extra affidavit. MCC will not extend 25 August because the campus was closed on Sunday.

  4. Float: wait for online verification. Answer a DVC query the same day. Provisional confirmation if documents are in order. No physical report in Round 1 unless a later round keeps or upgrades you in a way that later requires joining.

  5. Freeze: take originals, photocopies, photographs and the fee the college actually charges. MCC does not set Deemed University fees and will not hear that complaint now — the bulletin said confirm fees before choice filling. Save the joining receipt and the portal status.

If a state seat is better, resign MCC first: Freeze candidates in person at the institute; Float candidates via Withdrawal (Resignation) in candidate login. Once surrendered, that MCC seat is gone. Security refund, when due, returns to the same account after rounds close — not the afternoon you resign.

No Round 1 seat does not end counselling. You stay eligible for later MCC rounds if that round’s notice says so. Watch the UG schedule page for Round 2; do not copy 2025 dates. Missing 20–25 August after an allotment is the outcome that burns the seat. This page is MCC only (AIQ / Deemed / AIIMS / JIPMER). Do not paste an MCC letter into a state reporting queue.

FAQ

When is the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 allotment result?

Notice No. 08 dated 13 August 2026 lists the result as 19 August 2026. Notice No. 10 dated 17 August extended choice filling to 18 August, 11:59 PM, but did not print a new result date. Check the candidate login and MCC’s UG news page the same day.

What is the last date to report after Round 1 allotment?

Reporting and joining run 20 to 25 August 2026. Institutes verify joined-candidate data on 26 August 2026. MCC says the joining date is not extended.

Should I choose Freeze or Float?

Freeze if this is the seat you will join and you will not seek a better MCC college in Round 2 or 3 — physical reporting and college fee this week. Float if you will hold it and want an upgrade; Round 1 verification is online. After Round 3, leftover Float seats still need a physical join, and Round 3 cannot be resigned.

Where do I check the allotment?

Only mcc.nic.in. NTA’s score page is not the counselling result.

I was not allotted in Round 1. Am I out?

No, if you remain eligible under the next round’s notice. Missing joining after an allotment is what burns the seat.

Can I keep an MCC seat and take a state seat?

Not as two final joins. Resign MCC first — in person if you chose Freeze, online if you chose Float. Once surrendered, that MCC seat is gone.
