MCC has not yet posted a Round 2 activity timetable after it slipped Round 1 joining to 31 August 2026. Do not treat “register on 25 August” as live. The first MCC table printed Round 2 registration as 25–29 August, a result on 2 September, and reporting on 3–8 September. On 19 August MCC moved Round 1 reporting to 22–31 August and institute verification to 1 September, so a 25 August Round 2 start now collides with Round 1 joining. Watch eservices/Schedule UG on mcc.nic.in for the Round 2 PDF. Until it exists, the rules below do not change: who is eligible, who must pay again, fresh choices, Freeze vs Float, and Round 2 forfeiture.

We opened MCC’s UG hub, the revised UG Information Bulletin dated 20 August 2026, the revised AIQ Round 1 schedule dated 19 August 2026, and Notice No. 12 dated 21 August 2026 on 22 August 2026. If a later MCC PDF disagrees with a line here, the PDF wins.

When does NEET UG 2026 Round 2 start?
MCC has not named a new start day. Round 2 cannot overlap Round 1 joining, which now runs through Monday, 31 August. Coaching forwards that still say “register 25 August” are copying the old activity table, not a notice issued after 19 August. MCC does not email or SMS allotments (bulletin point 16). When the Round 2 PDF appears on News & Events UG, those clocks replace every date in the box above.
Who is eligible for Round 2 — and who must register again?
FAQ 10 of the 20 August bulletin lists five groups who can be considered in Round 2:
Group I — registered in Round 1, not allotted a seat.
Group II — allotted in Round 1, seat cancelled at document verification (considered with the corrected category, if a seat exists).
Group III — joined Round 1 and submitted willingness to upgrade (Float).
Group IV — allotted in Round 1 but did not join (Round 1 free-exit).
Group V — resigned the Round 1 seat online in the allowed window.
You are not eligible if documents made you non-eligible, or if you skip registration entirely (FAQ 11). Chapter 15: if you already registered in Round 1 — allotted or not, reported or not — do not register again; log in and fill fresh choices. If you never registered, pay in full when the Round 2 window opens. One MCC form only; a second form gets you debarred. Use the NTA mobile and email. OTPs go only there.
Do Round 1 choices carry over?
No. Chapter 15 requires “Fresh Choices” and locking. The Round 1 list is not reused. Unlocked choices auto-lock when the window closes; MCC will not unlock a locked list (FAQ 7). Skip the Round 2 window and you get no allotment that round, even if you are already registered. Confirm fees, bonds and recognition on the college’s own page before you lock — MCC will not hear that complaint later.
How to register and fill Round 2 choices when the window opens
Open https://mcc.nic.in — not a lookalike “mcc-round2” domain. Go to UG Medical Counselling.
Already registered: Candidate Login with the same credentials. Skip payment unless MCC’s Round 2 notice says otherwise for your case.
Never registered: New registration. Pay the non-refundable fee plus the refundable security deposit in one go. For 15% AIQ / Central Universities / AIIMS / JIPMER / B.Sc. Nursing that is ₹1,000 + ₹10,000 (UR/EWS) or ₹500 + ₹5,000 (SC/ST/OBC/PwD). Deemed University is ₹5,000 + ₹2,00,000. If you want both government and Deemed, pay only the higher (Deemed) amount — Chapter 16, Q. 2–3. Refunds go back to the same account or card; keep it open.
Fill fresh MBBS / BDS / listed B.Sc. Nursing choices in preference order. Save as you go. Lock inside the window. Print the locked list.
Do not pay anyone who claims they can “confirm” or “upgrade” a seat. MCC does not allot on nomination or through agents.
Freeze vs Float after a Round 2 allotment
The same 2026 split as on our Round 1 allotment page applies in Round 2 (Chapter 2 and Chapter 15). Freeze (no Round 3 upgrade): physical joining with originals and the college fee. Float (willing to upgrade): willingness and document checks are online; do not visit the campus at this stage. Both upload scans once — Round 1 uploads carry forward. If MCC upgrades you in Round 2, the Round 1 seat is released automatically and you have no claim on it. After Round 3 there is no resignation; leftover Float candidates must then report physically.
Round 2 is exit with forfeiture — not free exit
Round 1 is free exit. Round 2 is not. If you are allotted a seat in the Second Round or later and you do not join, the security deposit is forfeited (Information for Candidates, point 6). Wrong information or missing documents at admission has the same effect. Resigning a joined Round 2 seat, or declining to Float into Round 3, also forfeits the amount; Round 3 then needs a fresh security payment (FAQ 4 and 9). After you join Round 3 you cannot resign. A Round 1 Float who is upgraded into Round 2 and then refuses to join is a Round 2 non-join — forfeiture applies. Float is not a free hold.
What Round 1 joiners should do this week
Finish Round 1 first. Notice No. 12 (21 August) posted a revised provisional Round 1 result after a PwD-certificate error. That list is indicative; approach the college only after the final result. You then have 22–31 August to join, and institutes must treat weekends and gazetted holidays as working days. This page is MCC only. State counselling is a separate queue — the 19 August AIQ-and-State sheet gives state Round 1 joining till 5 September. Do not hold both as final joins.
Other exams on this desk: UPSC CSE Mains 2026 date sheet (21–30 August), UGC NET June 2026 answer key, and RRB JE 2026 applications (open until 13 September). More under Jobs & Exams.
What to do next
If you have a final Round 1 allotment, complete Freeze joining or Float verification by 31 August 2026. Do not travel on the revised provisional PDF from 21 August.
Bookmark eservices/Schedule UG. Open it daily until a Round 2 activity PDF appears. Ignore 25 August forwards until that PDF exists.
Decide now whether you will Freeze a Round 2 seat or Float toward Round 3. Round 2 non-join costs the security deposit.
Draft a fresh college list on paper so you can type it the hour the choice window opens. Round 1 preferences will not be waiting for you.
If you never registered in Round 1, keep the fee and the NTA mobile/email ready for a Round 2 registration — full payment, one form only.
FAQ
When is MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 2 registration?
Not confirmed after the Round 1 slip. The first MCC activity table printed 25–29 August 2026, 3:00 PM close, payment till 6:00 PM on 29 August. Round 1 joining now runs to 31 August, so those clocks may move. Use only a Round 2 PDF on mcc.nic.in.
Do I need to register again for Round 2?
Only if you never registered in Round 1. If you already registered and were not allotted, or you did not report, log in and fill fresh choices. Do not submit a second form.
Do Round 1 choices carry forward to Round 2?
No. Chapter 15 requires fresh choices and locking in the Round 2 window.
When is the Round 2 allotment result?
The first table printed 2 September 2026, with reporting 3–8 September. Treat that as stale until MCC reprints Round 2. Check candidate login the day MCC names.
What if I do not join a Round 2 seat?
The security deposit is forfeited. Round 2 is not free exit. You may still enter Round 3 only after paying the security amount again, if that round’s notice allows it.
Is Round 2 the same as state counselling?
No. This page is MCC (AIQ / Deemed / AIIMS / JIPMER). State DGME / CET cell calendars are separate. You cannot hold both as final joins.
