BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has demanded cancellation of Rahul Gandhi's membership in the Lok Sabha and ban on contesting elections in future. Dubey accused Rahul of working with Soros Foundation and anti-India forces. After this proposal, there was a huge uproar in the House and the proceedings had to be adjourned. The opposition called it an act of political vendetta.

Joint trade unions observed a nationwide strike in Jamshedpur in protest against the new labor laws of the Central Government. Bank and insurance services came to a complete halt on Thursday. The gate of LIC main branch at Bistupur was blocked, preventing employees and customers from going inside. Trade unions termed these laws as anti-labor and said that they have been made to snatch away the rights of workers and benefit the capitalists.
Yogi government has emphasized on the development of Purvanchal in its tenth budget. Along with construction of four new bridges in Prayagraj, there is a provision for strengthening of religious places in Vindhyachal and opening of trauma center in Azamgarh. Seven districts including Varanasi will benefit from the formation of Kashi Vindhya Regional Development Authority. Sports College in Mirzapur and Textile Park in Varanasi are also proposed, which will strengthen the infrastructure in the area.
Women protested against dumping of OB in the pond in Kankani Nichla Dhauda of Dhanbad. They stopped OB transporting for two hours, causing long queues of vehicles. The women allege that due to filling of the pond and closure of the natural drain, the area will be submerged during the rainy season. The matter calmed down after assurance from the officials, but the Colliery PO said that OB dumping would continue in the pond.
Blind and deaf-mute schools will be opened in all the nine divisions of Bihar, in which studies will now be conducted till class 12th. Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni gave this information in the Assembly. At present schools up to class 8th are running in Patna, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur. Each new school will have a capacity of 500 children. The minister also mentioned other welfare schemes.

In a new case related to coal smuggling, ED has taken major action and seized property worth about Rs 4 crore. Cash and gold jewelery were recovered from the premises of arrested accused Chinmay Mandal and Kiran Khan. This case pertains to illegal transactions worth more than Rs 170 crore, in which Anup Maji alias Lala is the main accused. ED is now investigating the source and investment of the seized money.
After the murder of fruit businessman Kanhaiya Yadav in Golmuri, Jamshedpur, local people created ruckus in Golmuri police station. People accused the police of negligence, as Yadav had earlier complained about threats. Police assured arrest within 24 hours. Several aspects including business competition or Tinplate Kali Temple election dispute are being investigated behind the murder. Police have detained two youths.
Police have arrested four real brothers and sent them to jail in the case of murder of seventh class student Shuaib in Shahzadnagar, Rampur. All four are cousins of the deceased. The main reason for the murder is believed to be business rivalry and old enmity. The accused told that they lured Shuaib from a wedding ceremony, took him to the bank of the pond, strangled him to death and threw the body in the pond.
