Sunil Kumar, a player from Lander Landhian, a small village of Amb sub-division under Una district of Himachal Pradesh, has brought glory to the country and the state on the world stage by showcasing his talent in the Faza World Para Athletics Championship held in Dubai. Overcoming physical challenges, Sunil Kumar, who was only 3 feet 4 inches tall, won the silver medal in the javelin throw event by throwing the javelin 32.47 meters. Sunil's competition took place on Tuesday evening at 7.44 pm. As soon as the news of this was received, there was an atmosphere of celebration in his native village.

In a special conversation with Dainik Jagran over phone, Sunil Kumar shared his happiness and said that it was his dream to win a medal for the glory of the tricolor and it is the result of his hard work and blessings of his parents. Sunil said emotionally that obstacles exist only in the mind, if the courage is strong then no stage in the world becomes small.
Sunil is deployed as a multi task worker in the school.
Currently working as a multi-task worker in a school located in Jubehad, Sunil has given the credit of his international success to the guidance of his mother Suman Bala, father Ram Pal and his coach Lalit Thakur.
Reflecting on this historic achievement of Sunil, Purni MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu also shared a post on the internet media congratulating the player and called it a moment of pride for the entire state.
