Bokaro Police has issued strict guidelines for Saraswati idol immersion. Chas SDPO Praveen Kumar Singh said that the immersion of the idols will have to be done before sunset on January 26 at 6 pm. There is a complete ban on the use of DJ during immersion, action will be taken against violation. Divers have been arranged for security, and mock drills were also conducted in the police line to deal with emergencies.
Four pairs of trains running from Tatanagar railway station will leave from Adityapur railway station from January 29. Chakradharpur Division has issued this order after the approval of the Railway Board. This change has been made due to increasing crowd in Tatanagar and station re-development. Jharkhand Police and CRPF launched 'Operation Meghaburu' in Saranda forest of West Singhbhum. Maoist leader Anal, carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, was killed in an encounter between security forces and Maoists in Saranda forest of Jharkhand. CPI Maoist Central Committee member Anal along with 12 other Maoists were also killed. This encounter took place with Cobra-209 battalion. Anal was wanted in many serious cases like murder and blast. Intensive search operation is going on in the area.

Due to old enmity, a car driver Ajay Kumar Singh was shot dead in Putki police station area of Dhanbad. Late on Wednesday night, a minor altercation turned into a violent brawl in Karkend Sudamdih Colony. Injured Ajay was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The accused is absconding, police have started investigation and have recovered bullets and shells from the spot.
