Railways has announced Gomtinagar-Dibrugarh Amrit Bharat Weekly Express running via Gorakhpur. A tragic road accident took place near Rafan intersection in Mawana. A speeding truck laden with sugarcane hit Bullet-riding soldier Shivam Chaudhary and his friend Mohit alias Bhure and dragged him for 25 metres. Both died on the spot. Soldier Shivam Chaudhary had come home on leave. The truck driver fled after the accident, due to which traffic was disrupted for an hour. The police sent the bodies to the mortuary.
