Afghanistan calls Pakistan's allegations baseless (Photo- Reuters)

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Afghanistan has termed Pakistan's allegations regarding the attack on a mosque in Islamabad as baseless and asked Pakistani authorities to accept responsibility for their internal security shortcomings.

This statement of Afghanistan comes after the post made by Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on X, in which he targeted Afghanistan for the attack.

According to Afghanistan's Ariana News, Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said in its statement that Asif immediately and irresponsibly blamed Afghanistan for the attack without conducting a proper investigation. Such incidents have happened before also. Linking such attacks to Afghanistan is irrational and baseless.

Pakistan should take responsibility for its security failures

Afghanistan said these statements cannot hide Pakistan's internal security failures. Afghanistan urged Pakistan's security officials to take responsibility for their internal security shortcomings, review policies and adopt a constructive and cooperative approach towards neighboring countries.

It is noteworthy that on Friday, a suicide blast took place during prayers in Khadija Al-Kubra Mosque in Islamabad. (With inputs from news agency IANS)
