
Himachal High Court: Mayor's Tenure Extended By Bringing Ordinance For A Particular Person, Got Additional Time After Petitioner's Allegations
The hearing on the petition in Shimla High Court against increasing the tenure of the Mayor to five years was adjourned till December 30. The government introduced the ordinance passed in the Assembly, which the petitioner challenged, without the approval of the Governor. The court gave time to the defendants to reply and fixed the next hearing on December 30. In the petition, the government is accused of bringing the ordinance to benefit a particular person.
