In Rajasthan, a 14-year-old girl was attacked with acid by a 19-year-old photographer. The girl had refused to talk to him at the wedding, after which the accused Omprakash, in order to take revenge, threw acid on her while going to school. The girl's clothes and one finger were burnt in the attack. The police arrested Omprakash and organized a parade in the market.

The investigation revealed that she was being harassed for 18 months and the teacher did not even pay attention to her asking for help for 45 minutes. The school was found to be ignoring safety standards and anti-bullying rules.
