Tribal society banned girls' mobile phones (symbolic photo- gemini)
Jagran correspondent, Udaipur. Tribal Social Reform Mahasamiti in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan has banned the use of mobile phones by minor and unmarried girls.
Panches of 16 villages and intelligentsia of the society participated in the meeting held in Saroda Gram Panchayat. The General Committee also decided to ban unnecessary roaming of girls in the market during festivals.
Dowry and extravagance in marriage were opposed. Loud music systems were banned in social events, but there was talk of promoting traditional musical instruments. The practice of wearing cloth has been abolished and helmets have been made mandatory for the youth.
