Jagran correspondent, Meerut. Jugadu electrical appliances often become a cause of danger. An old man died due to electrocution from Jugadu immersion rod in Agwanpur village of Parikshitgarh area.
75 year old Dhaniram, resident of Agwanpur village of Parikshitgarh police station area, used to work as a labourer. His three sons Chandrapal, Brahmpal and Moolchand live and work as laborers in Meerut. There was a need for hot water in the house. For this, at 1.30 am on Saturday night, Dhaniram's 72-year-old wife Chandravati placed the Jugadu immersion rod made by wrapping a heater element on a stick in a bucket filled with water.
During this time Chandravati suddenly got a strong electric shock. When she screamed, Dhaniram pushed his wife to save her. The wife survived but in this attempt she herself got a severe electric shock. He died on the spot due to severe burn injuries. When the old woman raised an alarm, nearby people reached the spot. Chandrawati has been admitted to the hospital.
Neighbors informed Parikshitgarh police station and his sons. Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. It is said that the old couple lived alone in the village. SO Parikshitgarh Sudish Kumar said that the forensic team conducted the investigation on the spot. CO Sadar Dehat Shiv Pratap also reached the spot.
