Dr. SK Poddar Elected President, Dr. Jagdeep Chugh And Dr. Poonam Vice President In DMA Elections.

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Dr. SK Poddar has been elected President in the elections for Delhi Medical Association (DMA) 2027-28. Whereas Dr. Jagdeep Chugh and Dr. Poonam Goyal were elected to the two posts of Vice President for 2026-27.

Voting for the elections went on from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday, in which a total of 4279 voters exercised their franchise. The counting of votes started at 7 pm and the results were declared at the end of the counting at 12 noon.

Dr. SK Poddar defeated Dr. Rajiv Sood for the post of President. The election took place between two panels. One panel (Swabhiman) was by Dr. Rajeev Sood, while the other panel (Karma) was by Dr. SK Poddar. This time, issues related to corruption, doctors' rights and hospital operations were prominent in the elections. Karma Group Convenor Dr. Vinay Aggarwal congratulated all the winning candidates.

DMA was established in 1914 and is the oldest doctor's organization in the country. A member of DMA is also nominated in Delhi Medical Council, hence its election holds special importance in the doctor community.
