Dense Fog Disrupts Flights At Chennai Airport, Many Planes Diverted

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Flight operations were disrupted at Chennai airport on Sunday due to low visibility due to dense fog. Officials said three flights, including the Chennai-bound international flight, were diverted to nearby airports. There were minor delays in some flights.

The official said, there was moderate to dense fog at Meenambakkam airport in Chennai. Visibility was around 1500 meters at 5:30 am, which dropped to 350 meters by 6:30 am and further to 150 meters by 7:30 am due to fog.

Two flights coming from Kuala Lumpur and Hyderabad were diverted to Tiruchirappalli, while a private flight bound to the city returned to Bengaluru. (With inputs from news agency PTI)
