Digital Desk, New Delhi. A painful road accident occurred due to dense fog in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Where- Due to low visibility on National Highway-58 near Bhilwara city, six vehicles collided with each other, due to which three people died on the spot in this horrific accident. While 12 others are seriously injured.
The accident occurred at around 7 am in the morning near Kothari bridge on Bhilwara-Ajmer road near Bhilwara city. Six vehicles collided one after the other due to low visibility due to heavy fog. Many vehicles were badly damaged and three people died on the spot.
There was chaos on the National Highway after the accident. Police reached the spot and with the help of local people, after a lot of effort, rescued the injured passengers trapped in the damaged vehicles. Eyewitnesses said that there was an atmosphere of panic due to the screaming and crying of the injured for help.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara, where relatives of the dead and injured have started arriving. The District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) also visited the accident site and later met the injured in the hospital.
10 kilometer long jam
Due to this accident, there was a jam of about 10 kilometers long on the National Highway. Traffic came to a complete halt for nearly three hours, and even ambulances sent to rescue the injured were stuck in the jam. Police eventually cleared the way for emergency vehicles and later restored normal traffic.
Dense fog still poses a serious threat on highways across Rajasthan, with officials urging drivers to exercise extreme caution during the morning hours. Kotputli-Behror district remained shrouded in dense fog for the third consecutive day on Friday.
After 7 in the morning there was sudden fog. Visibility on NH 48 and State Highway was limited to 10 meters. The vehicles were moving slowly with fog lights on. The minimum temperature in Behror remained below 9 degrees Celsius. (With inputs from news agency IANS)
