Surajkund Fair: Plate Worth Four Lakhs, Record Recorded In Guinness Book, Fine Carving Of 52 Elephants

Craftsman Hussain was honored with the National Award by Union Minister Piyush Goyal in 2022.

Jagran correspondent, Faridabad. The visitors coming to Surajkund fair are not only getting to see the world culture, but they are also getting to see excellent craftsmanship. There are some craftsmen whose carvings leave the audience standing in awe. Hussain, who hails from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, is one such craftsman.

At Hussain's stall number 1213, a plate worth Rs 4 lakh was present on which 52 elephants were carved. The plate is priced at Rs 4 lakh because it is engraved with 24 carat gold. This plate has also been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also honored craftsman Husail with the National Award in 2022 for his craftsmanship on the plate. Many other samples of brass workmanship are also present at Hussain's stall. Which includes flower pots, jewellery, surai, carving utensils, brass bells of different sizes and decorative items.

Hussain gives complete information about his art and the carvings done on the goods to the customers coming to the stall. Hussain told that now the crowd in the fair has started increasing. Their sales are also gaining momentum.
