Digital Desk, New Delhi. There was chaos in the capital Delhi on Monday morning when nine renowned schools located in different areas of the city received a bomb threat. These threatening calls came between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, following which the school administration and security agencies immediately went into alert mode.
As soon as the information was received, the concerned schools informed the Delhi Police about the matter without any delay. After this, teams of police, fire brigade and bomb squad reached the spot and a thorough search of the school premises was started.
Taking the threat seriously, students in many schools were taken out of the classrooms and taken to safe places. Holiday was declared in some schools, while parents were also immediately informed.
In the preliminary investigation, no suspicious object or explosive has been recovered from any school premises so far. However, the police are not taking it lightly considering it as a fake call and investigation is being done from every angle.
According to Delhi Police, efforts are being made to find out the source of the threatening calls and the location of the caller. Cyber unit and technical teams have also been included in the investigation.
It is worth noting that even before this, fake threats to bomb schools and government buildings had been received in Delhi and other big cities, the purpose of which was found to be to spread terror. Delhi Police has appealed to parents and general public not to pay heed to rumours, saying the situation in all the affected schools is said to be completely under control.
