Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh.
Jagran correspondent, Jalandhar. Despite the government banning songs promoting gun culture in Punjab, the release of such songs continues. The latest issue has come to light regarding the new song 'Asalha' of famous Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh, on which a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed strong objection.
BJP Punjab Trade Cell co-convenor Arvind Sharma has sent a written complaint to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav regarding this song and has demanded immediate action on the song. Arvind Sharma has said in the complaint that this song by Mankirat Aulakh openly glorifies weapons and violence, which can pose a serious threat to the already deteriorating law and order in the state.
He said that Punjab is already struggling with the problems of drug addiction, gang war, extortion and illegal weapons. In such an environment, such songs have a wrong impact on the minds of the youth and can attract them towards violence.

Songs are being released despite the ban of the state government

In the complaint given to the DGP, Arvind Sharma has demanded that the song 'Asalha' should be immediately removed from all digital and social media platforms including YouTube. He also said that if such content is not stopped in time, it will have a direct impact on the mentality of the youth and incidents of crime may increase.
