Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is achieved

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Arya (President, Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Vedic thinker). Swami Dayanand ji had determined salvation as the ultimate goal of man in the language of Vedas. He called for people to return to the Vedas. The intention of returning to the Vedas was to connect with the spiritual tradition of India. To present oneself for the attainment of Brahmavidya. Swamiji had a clear belief that only Brahma Vidya leads a person towards salvation.

He recommended people to identify themselves with the Upanishads. The mysterious knowledge of Brahma has been discussed in the Upanishads, which leads us towards wisdom and renunciation. Upanishad also means mystery. The real secret of life is to know yourself. Knowing yourself, you have to move towards your goal and keep moving forward until the goal is achieved.

It was Swamiji who explained this secret of Kathopanishad to the people - "Uttisthat Jagrat Prapya Varannibodhayat" i.e. "Get up, wake up and do not stop until the goal is achieved." In this Upanishad, Yamraj had made Nachiketa aware of the two paths of human life i.e. Shreya Marg and Preya Marg.

Swamiji clarified the mystery of these two paths and explained to the people that we have to become travelers on the path of merit. So to speak, there are two paths, but we should be travelers of the path of credit only, because this path is the path of self-welfare. Our sage ancestors had attained salvation by adopting this path. Let us all become seekers of salvation. Swamiji believed that if a person prepares to live his life as a seeker of salvation, then he is preparing to die. Preparation to die means that death itself should be put to death, that is, one should get free from the cycle of birth and death and attain the state of salvation.

The meaning of being desirous of salvation is to adopt the path of yoga. To overcome the five troubles of the world i.e. ignorance, asmita, attachment, hatred and attachment. To conquer lust, anger, pride, attachment and greed. Restrain the tendencies of the mind. The meaning of restraint is not opposition, but to bring them under your control with love by caressing them. He explained to the people that desires or sufferings or vices are not to be killed, but they are conquered with great love.

To kill means to treat the disease allopathically. Which are certain to re-emerge in the future and to prevent them means to completely destroy the disease. He decided for the sake of mankind that

I know this great man, the color of the sun, beyond the darkness. Knowing Him alone there is no other path for the sake of the ayana. (Yajurveda 31/18)

That is, I should know the Lord who is the greatest. Which is as resplendent as millions of suns. In which there is not even a trace of ignorance and darkness. By knowing only that God, man crosses the sorrows and the ocean of death in the form of the world, there is no other way to attain salvation.”
