Major burglary in jewelery shop
Communication Assistant, Koderma. An incident of major theft has come to light in Shivam Jewellers, a jewelery shop located in Jhanda Chowk, the busiest area of the city under Tilaiya police station area of Koderma district. Thieves broke into the wall of the shop and stole gold and silver jewelery worth about Rs 50 lakh. There is an atmosphere of panic among the nearby businessmen due to the incident.
Shop owner Ashok Bhadani told that he had gone to Jamshedpur from last Tuesday to attend his grandson's Chhathiyari program. The shop was closed during this period. When he returned to Jhumri Tilaiya on Saturday and opened the shop, he was shocked to see the inside.
Most of the precious jewelery kept in the shop missing
The goods of the shop were scattered and a big hole was made in the wall on the west side. Upon investigation it was found that most of the precious jewelery kept in the shop was missing. It is said that a junk shop right next to the shop has been lying closed for years.
It is feared that the thieves first entered the same closed shop and from there broke the wall and entered the jewelery shop. There was no CCTV camera installed in the shop, due to which the entire incident of theft could not be captured on camera.
The shop was closed for several days
As soon as information about the incident was received, Tilaiya police reached the spot and started investigation. Police say that the shop was closed for several days, so it is not clear on which day the theft took place.
The special thing is that there is 24-hour police deployment near Jhanda Chowk, despite this the thieves committed the crime without any fear. The police is busy gathering clues by interrogating the people nearby.
