Flames rising from the electronic warehouse in Transport Nagar, Prayagraj. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. A massive fire broke out in an electronic warehouse built in a house in the city's Transport Nagar on Friday night. Within no time the fire engulfed the entire house. A woman and her three children got trapped in it. It was just a coincidence that the woman's husband took his entire family out safely in time.
Firemen extinguished the fire
After receiving the news, firemen reached the spot and with the help of four fire tenders, they controlled the fire after about two and a half hours of effort. However, by then goods worth lakhs of rupees had been destroyed. It is not yet clear what caused the fire, but it is suspected to be caused by a short circuit.

Kuldeep Singh Chauhan, originally a resident of Fatehpur district, has built a two-storey house in Transport Nagar. He has rented out the lower portion to Nikhil Rawat, a resident of Pritam Nagar. Nikhil has built an electronics warehouse. Kuldeep Singh Chauhan lives with his family in the front part of the second floor. The rear portion has been taken on rent by Anup Kumar Kesarwani and he lives here with his family.
The landlord had gone to attend his daughter's wedding.
Kuldeep's daughter is getting married on 25th February. At around 4 pm on Friday evening, he along with his family went to Khaga to prepare for the marriage ceremony. Anup Kumar Kesarwani was strolling outside the house at around eight o'clock in the night. At the same time, his eyes fell on the smoke coming from the rear part of the warehouse. Before he could understand anything, flames started rising.
The tenant saved his family
Anup got scared and ran to the second floor. By then the flames had reached the second floor. Somehow he took out his wife Ganeshwari, sons Preet, Dattatreya and daughter Anaita who were present in the room. Seeing the flames, there was panic among the people living nearby. City West Traders Federation President Dharmendra Dwivedi and General Secretary Dhananjay Singh reached the spot.
Fear of fire due to short circuit
Fire department officials were informed. Within some time, fire officers Rajesh Chaurasia, Avadh Narayan, Rakesh Tiwari, Shivmurat Yadav, Kamlesh Kumar, Rajendra Yadav etc. reached the spot. The fire was brought under control at around 10:30 pm with the help of four fire tenders. Fire officer Rajesh Chaurasia said that the reasons behind the fire are being investigated. As of now, there is a possibility of fire due to short circuit, but something can be said clearly only after the investigation is completed.
People nearby ran out of their homes
People living around Kuldeep Singh Chauhan's house got scared after seeing the flames. They came out of their respective homes. Meanwhile, at ten o'clock in the night, Kuldeep Singh Chauhan also came here with his family. When people entered the warehouse after the fire stopped, all the goods had been destroyed. All the stuff kept in Anoop Kesarwani's rooms on the second floor was burnt.
