Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Preparations for the famous procession of Lat Saheb have been intensified at the level of administration and police. For the first time, 24 such places have been identified where paramilitary personnel will be deployed. Whereas earlier these soldiers used to move only with the procession.
The police have so far banned more than three thousand people who are suspected of disturbing peace. Many other people are also being identified. SP has got the route charts of Bade and Chhote Lat Saheb installed in his office.

Regular review is being done regarding how many security personnel and other arrangements will be made at which places so that there is no mistake at any level. Apart from the officials of Bareilly Zone, the Chief Minister and DGP offices are also reviewing the Holi procession. This time 30 percent more force is being deployed as compared to previous years.
Barriers sought from Traffic Directorate, loud hailers will be with every outpost in-charge
Barriers are also being collected with the help of the Traffic Directorate and public cooperation, which will be placed at those places from where traffic can be started immediately if needed. Apart from this, the post incharges who will be on duty on the procession route will also have loud hailers so that their message can be easily conveyed to the crowd.
Religious places will be covered
To ensure that the tradition is not broken and the event is conducted peacefully, along with covering the religious places on the route of the procession with polythene, barricading will also be done. There are 20 mosques, six tombs and four cemeteries on the procession route of Bade Lat Saheb. Whereas there are eight mosques and four tombs on the procession route of Chhote Lat Saheb. More security personnel will be deployed at these places than in previous years.
100 magistrates will be deployed
About 100 magistrates have also been deployed for security arrangements. The routes of both the processions have been divided into three zones each. For which zonal, sector, sub-sector and static magistrates have been nominated.

In this tradition started in protest against the atrocities during the British rule, a person is made to sit on a buffalo cart in the form of Lat Saheb, the symbol of the British. After that, amidst a shower of colours, it is taken around the city in a procession carrying shoes, slippers and a broom. Due to its unique style, this procession is famous throughout the country.
