State Bureau, Ranchi. A PIL filed in the court of High Court Chief Justice MS Sonak and Justice Rajesh Shankar demanding to improve the system of Netarhat School was heard on Thursday. After the hearing, the court has directed to take action and inform in the light of the order of December 11, 2025.
The court has asked the school management committee to hold a meeting on March 14 and all members must be present in it. Instructions have also been given to present the information about the decisions taken in the meeting in the court.
The applicant had earlier filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court regarding this matter. The Supreme Court had directed the High Court to hear the case within six months and pass an order. In the light of this order, the case was heard again in the Jharkhand High Court.
In its order dated December 11, 2025, the High Court had constituted a temporary (ad-hoc) committee, after the expiry of the tenure of the present committee of Netarhat Residential School, in which senior officials of the state government, education experts, former teachers and former students have been included. This committee will work till the formation of a new standing committee.
The High Court had accepted that there has been a continuous decline in the educational quality and administrative system of Netarhat School, which cannot be denied. The court had made it clear that the school needed comprehensive improvement. This matter is not just a mutual dispute but is related to public interest.
