He would first take a flight from Mumbai and go to Thailand, from there cross the river by boat at the border and reach Myanmar through the Donkey Route. Faridabad Police had issued a lookout circular for him, as soon as he reached Mumbai airport and showed his passport, he was stopped at the airport. The airport authority informed the Faridabad police and thus the accused Akash was caught.

Myanmar army had destroyed the network

After his arrest three days ago, the police brought the accused with them. During interrogation, Akash has told that call centers are run on a large scale in Myanmar for cyber fraud in India. In these call centres, Indian youth are kept as cyber slaves. By making them call people in India, they are targeted to cheat people. In October 2025, the Myanmar army raided these call centres.

The people running the call center had fled from there, but the youth hired to make the calls were caught by the army there. After dismantling the entire network of cyber fraud, the youth hired to make the calls were sent back to India. These included a young graduate pass resident of Faridabad Sector-75.

Was making contacts in Myanmar

It was he who had filed a complaint against the cyber police station and registered a case of cyber slavery. After the army raid, Akash Mahadev had fled to India. Since then he was hiding here. Now again he was in touch with his contacts in Myanmar and wanted to go back to Myanmar to set up a fraud network, but the police were searching for him and he was caught.

I myself was once a cyber slave.

According to Cyber ​​Station Central Police, Akash Mahadev is a B.Sc pass and is a native of Sholapur, Maharashtra. While searching for a job, in the year 2024, he himself got trapped in the web of cyber thugs. He was called to Myanmar and taken hostage and subjected to cyber fraud. When he saw that there was a lot of money involved in this work, he joined hands with cyber thugs and took up the task of transporting the Indian youth there.

Used to trap the needy

After this he became an agent of sending the needy as cyber slaves. He used to target youths who posted their biodata on online websites in search of jobs. They were first called to Thailand by luring them with good packages. After this it was transported to Myanmar through the donkey route.

Used to provide tickets and visas

Cyber ​​Station Central Police in-charge Inspector Vimal Kumar said, "After our investigation so far, it has come to light that Akash had sent about 15 youths to Myanmar in this manner. For this work, he used to get Rs. 1.25 lakh every month. Most of them are youths from Maharashtra. Only one youth resident of Faridabad had fallen into their trap. The accused themselves provided air tickets and on arrival visas to these youths."

He told that no money was taken from these youth, rather they were targeted and subjected to maximum cyber fraud. There their passports were confiscated, so that they could not return. To commit fraud in India, swindlers need youths who speak and understand Hindi, hence they are taken there.

He said, "We have also informed the Maharashtra Police and the police of other districts of Haryana about Akash's arrest, so that if any such case is registered there, they can interrogate Akash. After the remand period is over, Akash has been produced in the court and sent to jail in judicial custody."
