Digital Desk, Indore. The disease spreading due to contaminated water has taken another life in Indore, which is known as the cleanest city of the country. Bhagirathpura resident, retired teacher and ward president of Congress Rajaram Bourasi (75) died during treatment on Sunday. With this, the number of deaths related to contaminated water in the city has reached 28, raising serious questions on the preparedness of the health system and administration.

Health deteriorated suddenly, died during treatment

According to family members, Rajaram Bourasi suddenly complained of vomiting and diarrhea on Friday. First consulted the local doctor, but did not get any relief. When his condition worsened, he was admitted to the Government Super Specialty Hospital on Saturday morning, where he died during treatment on Sunday.

The Health Department has made a different claim in this matter. According to the department, Rajaram Bourasi was already suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Citing the angiography report of the year 2018-19, the officials said that there is no clear confirmation of vomiting and diarrhea in the available medical documents. However, family members disagree with this claim.

Patients still admitted in hospitals

Treatment of people who fell ill due to contaminated water is still going on. At present 10 patients are admitted in the Government Super Specialty Hospital, out of which 4 patients are in ICU. The condition of one woman and one man is said to be critical. The Health Department says that surveillance has been increased in the affected areas and teams are continuously conducting surveys.

Panic increased due to two deaths in two days

Earlier on Friday, 63-year-old Badri Prasad had died. He was admitted to MY Hospital on January 4 complaining of vomiting and diarrhea. After being discharged four days later, on January 17, when his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Aurobindo Hospital, where he died.

Meanwhile, 82-year-old Vidya Bai also died in Aurobindo Hospital on Thursday night. According to family members, he was suffering from vomiting and diarrhea for a long time and his hip bone was broken due to the fall.
