Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. A major obstacle is being created in the ongoing special land survey work in the rural areas of the district. RS (Revisional Survey) Khatian and Chakbandi Khatian of revenue villages of many areas of Bhagalpur are not available in the departmental records. 1336 revenue villages of the district got Khatian, but Khatian of 49 revenue villages is not in the record room of the district.
Khatian is being searched for the last five months. Records were kept after the survey in the year 1967-68. Now, after 58 years, the exploration of Khatian and Chakbandi Khatian is going on again for survey. But there is no document in the record room. Due to which the survey work is not progressing properly. In this regard, Settlement Officer Ajay Kumar Singh has appealed for cooperation from the general public.
The settlement officer said that the work of special survey is hampered due to non-availability of Khatian of these villages. The general public was requested that if RS Khatian or Chakbandi Khatian of the above revenue villages is available with you, then you can give its information to the Assistant Settlement Officer (Headquarters), Bhagalpur on mobile number 9973144051.
A request has also been made to submit the copy of the available Khatian in the camp office of the concerned zone. Also urged that only with the cooperation of the citizens, the land survey work will be completed on time, which will facilitate resolution of land disputes and updating revenue records in future.
