State Bureau, Patna. In the State Election Commission on Friday, Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash reviewed the technical initiatives adopted in Panchayat and Municipal Body elections. He took detailed information about the technological innovations in the preparations for the Panchayat elections to be held in December. Special emphasis was also laid on making the election process more transparent, effective and technology-enabled.
Earlier, a power point presentation based on technological innovations was presented by the Commission. In this, important topics like electoral changes made so far, Face Recognition System (FRS) for voter identification, OCR based vote counting method, multi-post EVM, technology based electoral reforms, possible amendments in Acts and rules, electoral planning, logistics and budget management were discussed.
The Minister said that maximum use of technology increases both trust and transparency in the election process. He praised the technological innovations made in the Panchayat elections held so far. Apart from State Election Commissioner Dr. Deepak Prasad and Secretary Mukesh Kumar Sinha, other officers participated in the meeting.
Draft of ward delimitation of Khagaul Municipal Council released
The State Election Commission has published the draft of formation and numbering (delimitation) of territorial constituencies (wards) for the extended area of Municipal Council Khagaul (District Patna). Now you can object till February 3. For this, citizens can submit applications in the District Election Office or the office of Sub-Divisional Officer.
