State Bureau, Patna. Deputy Chief Minister cum Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha clarified the status of pending files of the department in the Assembly on Thursday. He said that a total of 46 lakh applications are pending with the department. Of these, 40 lakh applications alone are related to refinement. This information was given during question hour. He said that a large number of applications are related to errors in name and father's name. Technical and archival glitches are causing delays in the process.
MLA raised questions on unsurveyed land
Barauli MLA Manjeet Kumar Singh raised the issue of unsurveyed land in the House. He said that in September 2024, the Patna High Court had lifted the ban on purchase and sale of unsurveyed land.
Despite this, the process of admission and rejection is not happening in many districts. He mentioned several districts including Araria, Arwal, Banka, Begusarai, Jamui and Jehanabad. The situation is similar in Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai and Madhepura. People are also troubled in other districts including Saran, Siwan and Gopalganj.
Problems increased due to lack of account books
The Deputy Chief Minister said that due to non-determination of accounts of unsurveyed land, there is a problem in filing and rejecting. Ownership verification becomes complicated in the absence of land records.
For this reason the applications remain pending. The government has taken steps to solve this problem. Instructions for survey have been issued to all settlement officials on 29 October 2024. Efforts are being made to reduce disputes by speeding up the survey process.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Advocate General has also been consulted in this matter. The government is serious and sensitive towards getting rid of land disputes. Efforts are being made to speed up the execution of applications related to rectification.
Initiatives are being taken at the administrative level to rectify technical errors. He assured that concrete action will be taken towards resolving the pending cases. The aim of the government is to reduce land related disputes and ensure a transparent system.
