Communication partner, Katihar. From Saturday (January 17), the people of Katihar district will get the gift of many trains. From January 17, train 06224 from Barsoi Junction will run from Radhikapur station to Bangalore station and 01032 Amrit Bharat train will run from Siliguri to Panvel.

02603 Amrit Bharat train will run from Rangapani to Nagercoil, 02609 Amrit Bharat train will run from New Jalpaiguri to Tiruchirappalli and 06598 Amrit Bharat train will run from Alipurduar Junction to Bengaluru Junction.

On January 18, 05671 Amrit Bharat train from Kamakhya Junction to Rohtak Junction will depart from Katihar Junction at 10:30 pm. MP Tariq Anwar will flag off these trains.

District Congress Party spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Tamakhuwala said that the new trains approved by the Railway Ministry will be flagged off from Barsoi station. Stoppage of 01032 Amrit Bharat train which will go from Siliguri to Panvel has also been approved in Katihar.

Due to the efforts of the MP, the Railway Ministry has approved these trains for Katihar and Barsoi. The residents of the district have expressed gratitude towards the Railway Minister of the Government of India, Ashwani Vaishnav and the MP.

New Jalpaiguri is developing as a rail gateway

New Jalpaiguri station of Katihar Railway Division is being developed as a modern rail gateway to North-East India at a cost of approximately Rs 335 crore. Santragachi station is being developed as a multi-modal hub to reduce pressure on the Howrah-Kolkata corridor with an investment of about Rs 380 crore. This has significantly improved passenger convenience, accessibility and operational efficiency.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian Railways has emerged as a powerful medium for infrastructure-based development in Eastern India. Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that more than 1,300 stations across the country have been selected for redevelopment.

Modern passenger facilities, disabled-friendly infrastructure, better transportation system, state-of-the-art waiting rooms, digital information system and architecture inspired by local heritage are being developed at these stations, so that the stations, while being modern, also maintain their regional identity.
