Cold breaks 7 year record in Bhagalpur (PTI)
Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The minimum temperature in Bhagalpur has been falling rapidly since the beginning of December. According to meteorologists, this year's cold has broken the record of average minimum temperature for the month of December in the last seven years. It is expected that the temperature will drop further in the coming days. Due to which other records of last several years may also be broken.
According to the meteorological department of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, the minimum temperature recorded on Monday was 7.6 degrees Celsius. Whereas, on Tuesday the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees Celsius.
Due to the presence of clouds on Tuesday, the minimum temperature increased by about one degree compared to Monday. Due to which the city residents got some relief. Westerly wind is blowing at a speed of 4.4 km per hour with 86 percent humidity.
According to meteorologists, there will be more fog during night and morning. Cold wave-like conditions can also occur due to increased wind speed. As soon as the clouds disappear, there will be a sudden drop in temperature and the effect of rain will increase. The sun will rise late and the situation will remain sunny and shady throughout the day.
Temperature likely to drop below seven degrees
In 2018, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius. This year the temperature has fallen to 7.6 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department estimates that the mercury may drop below 7 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The average temperature has never dropped so much till 2019.
