Digital Desk, New Delhi. 27 year old Kishan Kumar Hapka of small village Chhote Tumdar (Bhairamgarh) in Bijapur district has proved that a true player is known not by circumstances but by his courage. Kishan, once a brave soldier of DRG, had to lose one of his legs due to the IED blast planted by Naxalites on 18th July 2024. The accident was so big that any normal person would have given up, but Kishan's thinking prepared a new path for him.

She decided to showcase her talent in the sport of archery at the Bastar Olympics. The body left me, but the passion for playing and the feeling of serving the country in the heart is still as strong. This passion brought him back to the field. Fighting with his courage, Kishan not only controlled himself, but also created history by getting selected in the district level games of Bastar Olympics and reaching the division level competition. Kishan displayed his talent by securing first place in the division level competition.

Kishan did not lose hope even after the accident

After the accident, there came a time when Kishan had given up hope, but the player within him was not ready to accept defeat. The love for the game and the fire hidden within brought him back to life. Kishan considers his coach Durgesh Pratap Singh as his guide and source of inspiration. He says that Coach Durgesh not only taught me the game but also made me believe that disability is of the body and not of the mind.

Hailing from a remote village like Chhota Tumnar of Bhairamgarh block, Kishan has today become an inspiration for the entire Bastar. His struggle is a message for thousands of youth that no matter how big the difficulties are, courage should always be bigger than them. This achievement of Kishan is a moment of pride not only for his family but also for the entire Bijapur district.
