State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata: BJP, which is preparing for the assembly elections to be held in Bengal after a few months, is rapidly working on strategies against the ruling Trinamool. In this sequence, the party has started focusing special attention on those assembly constituencies where its candidates had lost by a very small margin in the last assembly elections of 2021.

According to BJP insiders, the party's state leadership has set a standard this time, under which those seats are being identified where the margin of defeat was less than 10 thousand votes in the assembly constituency-wise results during the 2021 Assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Better performance in 2024 Lok Sabha

According to a BJP state committee member, the party's number of seats in Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections may have been less than in 2019, but its assembly constituency-wise performance was better than the 2021 assembly elections. After studying the results of all 294 assembly constituencies of the state in detail, such areas have been identified where the margin of defeat was very less. Now work is being done on these seats under a special strategy. He said that in the assembly constituencies where BJP lost by a margin of 10,000 votes or less, the votes received by the CPI(M)-led Left Front played an important role in the victory of Trinamool Congress candidates. For this reason, the party is now laying special emphasis on bringing anti-Trinamool Congress voters to its side.

77 seats were won in 2021

In the 2021 assembly elections, BJP became the largest opposition party in the state by winning 77 seats. At the same time, in the assembly constituency-wise analysis of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it was revealed that in 90 assembly constituencies, BJP candidates were ahead of Trinamool Congress. The figure of 148 seats is necessary to form the government in the state. With this goal, BJP is engaged in the strategy to achieve victory this time.
