Compensation of Rs 1.63 crore to the wife and mother of 37-year-old engineer Saurabh Gupta, who lost his life in a road accident.
PTI, New Delhi. Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has ordered a compensation of Rs 1.63 crore to the wife and mother of 37-year-old engineer Saurabh Gupta, who lost his life in a road accident. Tribunal Chairperson Ruchika Singla gave this order while hearing the compensation petition filed by Saurabh's wife and mother.
According to the petition, the accident took place on May 10, 2023, near a toll plaza. Saurabh Gupta and his wife were going from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh in their car. Another car coming from the opposite direction crossed the divider on the dual-lane road and had a head-on collision with their car.
The tribunal held that the accident was caused by negligence and rash driving. The tribunal directed the car's insurance company, Cholamandalam General Insurance Company Limited, to pay the compensation amount.
