Jagran correspondent, Kaithal. The police have been alerted regarding security in the city regarding Republic Day. Security has been increased on the borders of the district. Investigations are being done by visiting railway stations, bus stands, hotels and dharamshalas. Checking of vehicles has also been increased. Vehicles going inside police stations are also being checked.
SP Upasana said that extensive arrangements have been made by the police to ensure that all the programs at the district and village level are conducted smoothly. Police is on alert mode regarding security arrangements for VIPs including the general public. The police are keeping a close watch on every nook and corner, keeping an eye on the activities of criminals and anti-social elements.
All the police station managers, in collaboration with the security agencies, are investigating all the hotels, lodges, Dharamshala and other religious places etc. falling under their respective jurisdiction. Information about the people staying here is being obtained. Appropriate guidelines have been given to hotel and dharamshala managers. Managers were instructed to immediately inform the police if any anti-social element or suspicious person stays in the hotel.
District level program of Republic Day celebrations will be organized at Police Line Kaithal. MP Naveen Jindal will be the chief guest at the Republic Day function and will take the salute of the parade. The parade will be led by DSP Lalit Kumar. Various teams including QRT Striking Reserve, Lifting Party, Bomb Disposal will be deployed at the venue.
Around 600 police personnel will be deployed
SP said that about 600 employees-officers will be on duty for the security of the Republic Day celebrations. Vehicles are being thoroughly checked by setting up special blockades at specific points in the city and surrounding areas. Riders will continuously patrol different routes in the city area. Whose unclaimed vehicles, rickshaws, motorcycles and other vehicles and freshly dug soil will be monitored.
Also appealing to the general public, he said that if any suspicious person is found staying in a bus stand, railway station, market, hotel, Dharamshala etc. or any unclaimed item is reported to the police through any means without any delay.
During the final rehearsal of the program, police employees and officers have been instructed to perform their duty with caution. Gave a strict warning to the anti-social elements and said that they should not even try to carry out any illegal activity, otherwise strict legal action would be taken against them.
