Case against four people including the then Revenue Inspector, Accountant
Samvad Sutra, Jagran, Rae Bareli: In Maharajganj area, a woman got 19 twenty acres of land registered in her name by showing the dead farmer who had been missing for 40 years. In this case, on the orders of the court, the police have registered a case against four people including the then Revenue Inspector and Accountant.
Ram Kishun, resident of Amiliha police station Mohanganj of Amethi district, filed a petition in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and said that his cousin brother Chhedu of entire Achali village of Maharajganj was mentally unwell. Cheddu suddenly went missing from home about 40 years ago and has never been found anywhere.
Ram Kishun alleges that Ramrati of Bakhatkher Majre Mon, posing as Cheddu's sister, applied in the Naib Tehsildar Court on February 6, 2024, to inherit his land and register the land in her name. In the application, Cheddu was shown to have died on 24 April 1993. On October 3, 2024, Ramrati withdrew the application from the court.
According to Ram Kishun, Chhedu's voter identity card was issued by the Election Commission in October 2024. On which, on April 15, 2025, Ramrati, along with her relative Dayaram, resident of Majhigawan Harchandpur, filed a second application for inheritance in the Tehsildar Court itself. Along with this, in the death certificate filed, Chhedu's death was shown as 16 January 2014.
Kotwal Jagdish Yadav says that on the orders of the court, a case has been registered against the then accountant Rajeev Mishra, revenue inspector Ajay, Ramrati and Dayaram. Accountant Rajeev Mishra says that on the basis of evidence obtained in the case, the name of Cheddu's successor, his sister Ramrati, was mentioned in the revenue records.
After coming to notice that the death certificate is disputed, the report has been given to the Tehsildar. Based on the report, Ramrati's name has been canceled from the revenue records. Sub-District Magistrate Gautam Singh says that the matter will be investigated. If the revenue employee is found guilty, departmental action will also be taken.
