Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated as the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the four-day Acro Festival and National SIV Championship at Koti Colony of the district headquarters. All the guests including the Chief Minister watched the live show of paragliding.
CM Dhami said that Tehri Garhwal is now not only the center of energy production but is also progressing rapidly in the field of tourism and adventure sports, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. During this, CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various schemes.
At the conclusion of the Acro Festival and National SIV Championship on Friday, the CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continuously encouraged the players. Today, Indian players are making the country proud in every sport.
The Chief Minister congratulated the entire team of the Tourism Department for the successful event. Said that tourism and employment get a new direction through sports events. Said that Tehri's adventure sports will give it global recognition.
Uttarakhand is now becoming not only a spiritual land but also a state with limitless possibilities, where the government is continuously encouraging cycling, mountaineering and other adventure activities.
He said that the sports activities organized in the higher Himalayan regions have been presented at the national level through the winter visit of the Prime Minister, which will create employment opportunities throughout the year.
Expressing happiness, the CM said that more than 400 trainees are receiving paragliding training in Tehri, for whom the government is trying to create new employment opportunities.
During this, the CM also unveiled the poster of Tehri Lake Mahotsav on the Himalayan O2 theme. He said that the local people will directly benefit from the Tehri Lake Festival.
On the concluding occasion, the Chief Minister inspired the players to move forward with hard work, confidence and continuous effort and said that human beings are a storehouse of infinite power.

Whereas under Gram Panchayat PATA, rural motor road (Stage-1) from Pangarkhal Gyanous Motor Road to Scheduled Settlement Vartyakhund Namen Tok to Chorio Tok, construction of rural motor road from Garh Namen Tok of Kanda Dangi-Maroda Motor Road to Ranigarh of Revenue Village Sankuld via Velakandi, Junior High School Saudhar Dangi, construction work of Panchayat Bhawan in Gram Panchayat Jagdhar and Village Panchayat Chheti and DIPHL. Laid the foundation stone of construction works of Bauradi.
CM said that the schemes inaugurated and foundation stone laid will promote tourism and employment. It will also take Tehri to new heights of development.
District Magistrate Tehri Nitika Khandelwal said that the Acro Festival is being organized in Tehri for the third time, in which 25 international participants from 11 countries and 27 participants are participating in the National SIV Championship.
He said that Tehri Lake is being developed as a global destination, which has resulted in a significant increase in adventure activities. Along with this, Tehri is also being developed as a center of wellness and spiritual tourism.
The DM said that today, while the AQI level has increased significantly in metropolitan cities like Delhi-Mumbai, with the aim of giving global recognition to the clean air of Uttarakhand, programs are being organized from 6 to 9 March under the Himalayan O2 theme, in which various activities will be organized in all the assembly constituencies of the district.
He said that the Chief Minister's visit to Tehri is not only a source of inspiration and enthusiasm for the youth but is also promoting adventure sports. He said that paragliding is now emerging as a powerful medium of employment in Tehri, which is providing new opportunities to the local youth.
In the SIV competition, pilot Mridul Payal stood first, Gaurav Thakur stood second and Kapil Nautiyal stood third. They were honored with citations and mementos along with prize money of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay, Ghansali MLA Shakti Lal Shah, District Panchayat President Ishita Sajwan, BJP District President Uday Rawat, Block Chief Chamba Suman Sajwan, Jakhanidhar Chief Rajesh Nautiyal, Chamba Municipality President Shobhani Dhanola, Mulayam Singh Rawat etc. were present.
