State Bureau, Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday took stock of the construction of 60 houses and officers hostel campus being built in front of Bihar Museum. He also inspected the tunnel being built between Bihar Museum and Patna Museum. Also saw the exhibition in Bihar Museum.
The officials looking after the work of tunnel inspection gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the progress and updated status of the work. While inspecting the under construction Museum Sub-way Tunnel located at Dhartiki Mor near Nehru Path, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take special care to ensure that the construction work is completed in a better manner and at the earliest.
With its completion, people will be able to easily visit the exhibits in Bihar Museum and Patna Museum by going from one place to another. There will be a significant increase in the number of tourists. Keeping this in mind, ensure proper arrangements for parking and other necessary facilities. He said that the tunnel should be constructed in such a way that there is no difficulty in commuting on Nehru Path.
Before inspecting the tunnel, the Chief Minister inquired about the progress of the construction work of 60 houses and Officers Hostel Campus being redeveloped in front of Bihar Museum. Through the site plan, the officials told the Chief Minister that an 11-storey building is to be constructed here. Arrangements for solar parking shed, open parking, club house etc. will be ensured in the premises of the building to be constructed here. There will be adequate parking arrangements.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to take this work forward rapidly. We already had a desire in our mind to demolish the old structure and build a multi-storey building which would be equipped with all the necessary facilities. With the construction of this multi-storey building along Nehru Path, better housing arrangements will be available.
The Chief Minister visited the Bihar Museum and inspected the exhibits kept there. During this, the Chief Minister reached the first floor of Bihar Museum and saw the photo exhibition related to Nalanda Mahavihar and Sanchi Stupa and the 3-D film related to the parikrama of Mahabodhi Temple located in Bodh Gaya.
Director General of Bihar Museum, Anjani Kumar Singh gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the new exhibits installed in the museum premises, number of tourists, parking arrangements, facilities available in the museum premises etc.
On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Director General of Bihar Museum Anjani Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary Kumar Ravi, District Magistrate Dr Thiagarajan SM and many other senior officials were present.
