Jagran correspondent, Bilaspur. Former Union Minister and BJP MP from Hamirpur, Anurag Thakur, in a press conference in Bilaspur, has made a sharp attack on Congress over the 'Ji Ram Ji' (BBG Ramji) scheme. He alleged that Congress is once again creating obstacles in the path of development by spreading confusion. Anurag Thakur said that Congress only needs the support of Gandhi's name, whereas it has nothing to do with his principles and the welfare of the poor.

The old system was a den of corruption

Citing historical facts, Anurag Thakur said that when 'Jawahar Samriddhi Yojana' was started in 1999, Congress did not remember Mahatma Gandhi. Its name was changed in 2009 to bring political shine. Raising questions on the old system, he said that there was huge fraud in the earlier schemes. Fake mustles were filled and the rights of the poor were violated.

Transparency in Modi government

The MP said that after 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the system through technology. Now every work is monitored through satellite and geo tagging. Artificial Intelligence will now be used in the new scheme and digital attendance will be mandatory so that the role of middlemen can be eliminated. Now payment will be ensured within seven days and the eligible will also get unemployment allowance.

All MNREGA money lost to corruption in Bengal

Giving the example of Bengal, Anurag Thakur said that there the entire MNREGA money was lost to corruption. Attacking the Congress, he said, "For Congress, poverty is the basis of politics, whereas for BJP, upliftment of the poor is the resolve of service. The end of poverty is the end of Congress politics, that is why they are opposing development."

Big relief to Himachal

In the context of Himachal Pradesh, he called it a big relief. He clarified that the state's share in this scheme will be only 10 percent. He stressed that BJP has not only accepted Gandhiji's vision of 'Gram Swaraj' and poor upliftment, but has also implemented it on the ground.
