The Special Operation Group (SOG) has arrested the director of a private university for distributing fake degrees to candidates appearing in the recruitment examinations for government fire personnel and librarians. SOG has arrested SAG Moesan, director of Chennai-based Bharat Samaj University. He will be brought to Jaipur.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the university was operating without government recognition and registration. More than one hundred professional courses were being offered in the university.
The fake university gave fire fighting technical certificate to the candidates by taking 12th class pass mark sheet and Aadhar card. In return, Rs 20 thousand to Rs 1 lakh were collected from each candidate.
SOG Inspector General Paris Deshmukh said that the candidates appearing in the recruitment examination of Fire Technical Staff in the Indian Navy-2025 had received information about the certificate being given by the university on the previous date. On this, SOG registered a case and started investigation.
Investigation revealed that the private Bharat Sevak Samaj University of Chennai, in alliance with an institute based in Tughla, Rajasthan, had issued certificates in the past without valid training.
The investigation so far has revealed that the university has fraudulently given recognition to more than ten thousand private colleges in various states including Rajasthan. Karauli's institute is also included in these.
Money was also taken from colleges in exchange for giving recognition. On the information of fraud, the director of a private college in Dausa, which had taken affiliation from the university, was arrested two days ago and the investigation was carried forward.
