Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. District Magistrate Savin Bansal's patience ran out when roads were dug haphazardly in the name of development and safety standards were ignored at the site. After ignoring repeated instructions of District Magistrate Bansal, the administration has canceled the permission of seven agencies located on the road. Now this agency will not be able to dig the roads further.
Dainik Jagran had published a detailed news in its Sunday issue on arbitrary digging on the roads and the problems it causes to the citizens. In which it was told that the construction agencies are not ready to improve. Taking cognizance of the news, the District Magistrate has canceled all the permissions given to Executive Engineer (North) Water Institute, Superintending Engineer Pitkul, Executive Engineer Drinking Water Corporation (Kaulagarh Road), UUSDA, Executive Engineer Energy Corporation (South), Executive Engineer Water Institute (South) and Smart City for various works with immediate effect.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that the administration's QRT, during periodic inspection, found that there is a severe lack of barricading and other safety standards at the construction sites. For this, FIR and punitive action was taken against negligent agencies. When no improvement was seen even after this, there was no other option except canceling the permission for road cutting.
